Unrobe was born out of the belief that things can, and most importantly, should be different.
We have been doing that since 2017 with sustainable corporate clothing and merchandise produced in Europe with the highest certifications.
We are happy to explain how we do that and what you as a company need to consider according to the new EU guidelines. The regulations are coming soon, but we can help your company go ESG-proof into the future in the field of corporate apparel and merchandise.
Sustainability and circularity becomes mandatory according to European directives
The EU strategy for sustainable and circular textiles presented by the Commission in March 2020 aims to ensure that textile products placed on the EU market in 2030 have a long life, are recyclable, are made of recycled fibers as much as possible and are free of hazardous substances (Source: European Parliament).
The European Commission's new CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) directives also make it mandatory for companies to report on their impact on people and the environment in the coming years. Large listed companies will already be required to report on their impact by 2024. Other companies will follow in subsequent years. Not only are the rules coming fast, but they are also complex. With sustainable corporate apparel and merchandise produced in Europe, you can be sure that you are complying with the new strict guidelines.
Unrobe works according to 7 pillars
1. Durable design
Unique and tasteful design that is at the same time timeless and resistant to emerging trends. So the products can be used for a long term and your staff will feel confident and comfortable. Clothing that makes your company look better. By holding fitting sessions with the customer, measurements can be determined more accurately and the design optimized. This allows for more focused purchasing and prevents waste. We also try to design the clothes in such a way that they can easily be recycled into new clothes.
2. Sustainable and circular qualities
Exclusive use of sustainable and/or circular materials for 100% of our products. Using organic cotton, recycled cotton/polyester or from deadstock ensures minimal water use and no use of chemicals and pesticides in the growing process. All according to the highest certifications. In addition, the high quality ensures that products last much longer than conventional clothing.
3. Sustainable and circular production processes in the supply chain
Our factories are strictly selected for their vision on sustainable and circular production. Our factories work according to the highest certifications and are audited by independent parties. They innovate in the areas of circular washing and dyeing, waste management of residual materials in the factory and with sustainable power supply.
4. Ethical production close to home - in Europe
We believe in local production to keep our supply chain manageable and controllable. Shorter transport means less co2 emissions. This difference is really big when you compare it to manufacturing in Asia. Our factories in Europe work with a code of conduct that ensures good and safe working conditions in the factory.
5. Radical transparency
Since its inception in 2017, we have been fully transparent about the structure of our prices and about the factories we have partnerships with. Through a QR code in each product you can find where the product comes from and by whom it was made. We have nothing to hide.
6. Quality control, inspection and audits
Indispensable in the production chain are the quality requirements that you request actually checked. Is what you have requested also produced in this way? In terms of both quality and sustainability requirements? We do this by checking the certificates, audits by independent parties and by carrying out quality control and inspections ourselves. So you can be sure that you will not be confronted with unpleasant surprises and that the products meet the high sustainability and quality requirements.
7. Closing the loop with our recycling plan and repair service
We believe it is important to take responsibility for what we produce. Therefore, we work with several partners to take back discarded clothing and recycle it into new products. We take over the return logistics completely and there is no charge for this. In this way we encourage a closed model and reduce waste together with our customers. In addition, we also have a repair serivce to extend the life of the products.
The factories we have been working with for many years are all located in Europe. We select our factories based on sustainable and circular production processes, quality, communication, and workforce.
